Left school at 14 years with nothing. At 18 1/2 years got my PARA Wings, At 25 got my Advanced Police Driving Certificate. 2 years later got my Motor Cycle as well. If those are classed as qualifications I've got them. |

I saw the light around the same age I did quite good at school but not as good as I might have done if: 1. I didn't spend so much time thinking about and playing football 2. I didn't spend so much time thinking about and playing music 3. I didn't spend so much time thinking about girls; unfortunately I can't add the 'playing' bit here - at least for my very very young years... 4. if I was from a rich background that made sure i did all the right private lessons with all the rich teachers who made sure i answered all the right questions that would make me very rich indeed and ensure I can forget ALL about needing to learn any more once I hit 25 ....... and there you see the light ;) |

good on you :) How's the industry at the moment?? And i'm doing mine at Nottingham at the moment, looking about for a job at the moment, possibly in just the technology side or something (round birmingham/wolverhampton area) but as theres not a lot of jobs going at the moment there is of course less places looking to take on youngsters :( |

As you might expect, it is terrible... that said , i got a great job recently, possibly my best yet (wouldn't be hard), and a good few friends are working away... so don't let the economic woes put you off.... go where the truth leads you and all that jazz. Whatever about the world of work, it is a great profession in it's own right - has no comparison. and if i can still say that after 2 big recessions and a lot of financial hardship, then it must be alright. But you do have to like it now and believe in it - if nothing else it's very demanding Nottingham is a good school - do you know Soumyen Bandhopadhay by any chance?....... Indian lecturer who I hear moved there after a long stint in Liverpool... |

Nice one! :D Birmingham University - Hard work, but worth it, if only to boost my self esteem following years of thinking I was an academic failure. |

Good for you Blackie :applause: I only came out at 16 with one O'Level but currently am studying for a certificate in Desktop Support that's highly respected within the industry I was also a training officer at British Airways Always liked the line from "Four Weddings And A Funeral" .....the fellah in the hotel bar drinking the whiskey with Hugh Grant said he dropped out of University because he just couldn't see how the works of Wordsworth etc would benefit him in the stocks and bonds markets He did have a good point Oh ! I'm also a qualified Bar Tender here in the States It's been 15 years though since I worked briefly in a golf and country club and have basically forgotten every single cocktail and the ingredients :banghead: I'm also a very good cook........But No recipes from me And pleasee, no more.......They're getting a bit stale now would anyone agree ?
